EMEC has been awarded a three-year contract with Groupement Berkine, Algeria for the provision of drilling fluids and associated services.

EMEC is pleased to announce it has signed a long term contract with Groupement Berkine to provide drilling fluid and engineering services for its operations. 

“We are thrilled to have been awarded this contract”, says Amr Shoab, EMEC Algeria Country Manager. “Our aim is to help Groupement Berkine maximize the productivity and cost-efficiency of their drilling operations.”

EMEC, the Egyptian Mud Engineering and Chemicals Company, provides drilling fluids products, systems and services to international oil and gas operators in the Middle East, and it is the only mud company that operates exclusively in the Middle East. With some 130 rigs and 4,800 wells, including some of the deepest and most challenging in the region, EMEC provides an unrivalled blend of local knowledge and diversity of experience, language and culture.

Headquartered in Hassi Messaoud, Algeria, Groupement Berkine is a joint venture between the Algerian Sonatrach, the largest oil and gas company in Algeria and Africa, and the American Anadarko Petroleum Corporation through its subsidiary Anadarko Algeria Company LLC.
